Owners Notes:
Restaurants and Shopping Centers:
There are several "very classy" restaurants within 15
minutes of the house. These run from $15 to $50 per person. There are also several
"buffet" type restaurants that have excellent food for reasonable prices...
$7.00 to $10.00 per person. There are several inexpensive seafood restaurants where
excellent food costs from $5 to $10 per person per meal. Lots of fast foods, burgers,
pizzas, subs, Cubans, etc... Within 30 minutes there are 3 or 4 major Malls with many
different stores and shops.... There are also several "tourist areas" that have
shops that cater to tourists, if that is your taste.
Golf:
There are several very well known Golf courses within 30 minutes of the house. Innisbrook
is to
the south about 15 minutes.. I am not a golfer myself, but one internet page lists the
following
courses as being some of the best in the world. All these are within 30 minutes or so of
the house
>From the internet listing of the top 100 Golf courses in the US..
NO. 2 COPPERHEAD, INNISBROOK HILTON RESORT
NO. 22 TPC - TAMPA BAY
NO. 27 ISLAND COURSE, INNISBROOK HILTON RESORT
NO. 39 FOX HOLLOW GOLF CLUB
NO. 55 WESTCHASE
NO. 56 SADDLEBROOK COURSE, SADDLEBROOK RESORT
NO. 87 SANDPIPER COURSE, INNISBROOK HILTON RESORT
NO. 91 RIVER HILLS
Beautiful Beaches:
There are several very nice secluded beaches just 5 minutes from the house. These are not
the tourist beaches, they are beaches that local Floridians who are "in the
know" use.... They have shaded picnic facilities, and trees to set up your chairs
under, or plenty of sandy sunshine if you prefer..If you are interested in Clearwater,
with its tourists beaches, it is about 30 minutes south of this house. These tourist
beaches are guaranteed to be crowded with lots of folks milling about. This is very
appealing and much fun for the right type of person.
Other Florida Attractions:
The Florida attractions in Orlando are about 90 minutes by car from
our house; Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, Epcot Center, etc...The Interstates
offer easy access to the Orlando attractions. It is easy to drive to the Orlando area,
enjoy a day's worth of attractions and return to the house that evening.
Wildlife:
About three times each week, bottle nose porpoises..., called dolphins cruise behind the
house. The
area behind our house is a favorite fishing area for local fishing guides who are trying
to catch snook. This is undoubtedly the same reason the dolphins are interested in the
area. 'Old Blue', a Great Blue Heron is a daily visitor to our backyard. He is ever
vigilant for that free handout of fish. As for the alligator.... My neighbors report that
there is one in the area.... I personally have not seen it... so you should use your own
judgment about swimming.... i.e. if an alligator comes to greet (eat) you....its is your
problem . I have several pictures of my son and his friends, proudly displaying the fist
they have caught from the sea wall. The fish include redfish, snook, jack, mangrove
snapper, catfish, and stingray... A wire bait trap to catch bait fish comes with the
house, along with fishing poles.... You can catch bait fish from the Seoul, put them on
the fishing poles provided and catch fresh fish that you can prepare.
Boating:
A BOAT comes free of charge with the house... (motor is
extra). We have a 15 foot long aluminum 'john boat' that is provided free of charge
with the house. There are life jackets, fishing poles, fishing bait catching trap, anchor,
and other boating things that come free of charge.... We also have a 10 horsepower
outboard motor that is available. If the motor is operated in water that is too shallow
(not deep enough) then damage to the propeller that costs about $45.00 may result.
However, if you are reasonably careful, this should not be a problem....
Newly Renovated:
This house has been completely remodeled. It has new walls, new
paint, new ceilings, new kitchen,
new vanities in the restrooms, new toilets, new floor tile (1800 sq. ft.), new windows,
new landscaping..... It is very nice and clean... it has a great room with a kitchen bar
that overlooks the
great room and has a clear view out the back windows... the back wall of the great room
has 24 horizontal feet of tall windows that offer a beautiful view of the water.... There
are 3 bedrooms, Master Bedroom with King size bed, middle bedroom with Queen size bed, and
3rd bedroom with sectional couch that converts to a double bed. One gentleman from NORWAY
who rented in JUNE was concerned about air conditioning... and inquired if this house is
air conditioned... ... YES YES YES !!! ... The Air conditioner works very well and keeps
the inside very cool... The central heat also works.... BUT NOT IN JUNE ! HAH HAH !!!!
